Interesting; I posted my books on a site and later found that it had been banned because of guns and animals. Next to it was an OK book about horror and another about the destruction of the world. I guess To Kill a Mocking Bird would be banned also?

The third quarter seems to have been slow for sales of books. I have heard from several authors saying that even with promotional of ninety-nine cent sales and free books there has been a lack of sales. I think that back to school and winter coming on has something to do with it. Hopefully, the fourth quarter and Christmas sales will be much better.

A J A.j. Griffiths-Jones: This book is of a genre that I rarely read but, having now followed the journey of Jedadiah Crow & his ancestors, I’m relishing the idea of reading the sequel. Every scene is told with such precision & clarity, making this a brilliant work of historical fiction but without losing the undeniable excitement of a good old western. Wood is a superb storyteller, obviously knows his weaponry terms well & spins a most enjoyable yarn.

I found myself reading this book like it was a movie in my mind. When I wasn't glued to this book I was wondering what going on with the characters because you fall in love with all of them! I first read the House of Crow and could not wait for White Crow to be published. After a few months, I reread The House of Crow ( Great read). I downloaded White Crow the day I received notice of its publication. It is well worth the read as a story but there are some timeline skips of months even years that leave you wanting to know what was going on during those times. Oh well, can’t expect a minute by minute play line.
If one is new to the family Crow, they need to start with White Crow first then The House of Crow.
I hope there may be at least one more Crow novel in the making.

Sometimes the word "WOW!" says it all. Well, I have to tell you that the word "WOW!" is insufficient to tell you how good this story is. I am now a John W. Wood fan.

I intend to read to read everything he ever writes. I look forward to the 2nd generation of the Crow Clan.

The descriptions of Mexican California and the Ranchos of the Don's was exquisite. You will see the haciendas and the Vaccaro's, as clearly thru John's words as if you were seeing them thru your own eyes.

I do not want to give anything away because the events flow from one scene to the next in such a way that a description will give too much.

I will say to keep an eye on Hector...

You must discover the lives and adventures of Isiah Crow and his friend LeRue for yourself.

All right, John, when will book 2 be out. I would love to be a beta reader, if you need one.

The House of Crow was the follow-on story to this book, and perhaps more to come in a series. This book follows the life of Isiah Crow, his adoption into a family of wonderful people, his marriage and the birth of his son. From that point of the story, you will have to read the rest for yourself. And if you like a great family dynasty story you will read this book. It is fun, it is exciting, it is a page-turner of the first order. I read it in one sitting after starting it this evening. It was not possible to put it away and go to bed early--the story was too good. The book is presented well, it does not distract with any problems. The characters are real in your mind's eye as you read. Larger than most men, Isiah turns out to be larger than life itself. The White is the name he was given as a boy. The friendships described, the love story told, all are very well done in this eminently readable story. You need to get this one.

Great storyline chock full of events that take place over generations with a skillful blend of people/places/equipment that makes it all come alive. Not that easy when you think about it from a story teller's, or, reader's viewpoint. As an old Jarhead, I found that JWW knew his business. I will watch for his next book!
