Florida jury acquits ex-baseball player of vehicular manslaughter

I was disappointed by the outcome of this trial.  I have no grudge against this man because he is an athlete. I'm disappointed in a jury who would allow a man to walk away from killing a person with his automobile while under the influence of alcohol.  I watched the trial on TV and having nearly thirty years of law-enforcement experience I find it unbelievable that a jury would find him anything but guilty.  They actually bought into the defense making the victim guilty!

The American way of justice I believe mirrors the country. Smoke and mirrors with no substance. Money and prestige rather than truth and justice motivate most juries.  It is how much you have, who you are and your ethnic origin that determines the verdict. There is an old adage in law-enforcement; If you're guilty ask for a jury trial. If you are innocent ask to be tried by the judge.

Like the downward spiral of the ethics of our country so goes our law.

I will never forget that I am an American, fighting for freedom,
responsible for my actions, and dedicated to the principles
which made my country free.

  1. It all rolls down hill. And there isn't a thing we can really do about it without getting arrested or have a ton of money to back you up.

  2. Schuylerwood is wrong. There is something we can do about it. That is why this country is different from any other in history. We are free to speak up. The TEA Party just finished turning an election on its head. And, they aren't finished. Water is made if invisible particles, but water always wins.

Stop moaning and come on in. The water's fine.
